International Salsa Festival in Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg International Salsa Festival: Dance, Learn, Party

When you think about dancing in Hamburg, electronic club music or German hip-hop parties may well come to mind over partner dancing. But salsa has been a worldwide phenomenon for decades, and Hamburg is a major city with strong international influences, so it’s really no wonder that this much-loved Latin dance is big in Hamburg.

The city’s salsa dance community has organised and hosted Hamburg’s International Salsa Festival for nearly two decades. The event draws a wide array of international dancers who come to enjoy workshops and shows by teachers famous the world over and, of course, to dance and party late into the night. Because the event is so large, there are plenty of workshops for all levels, beginners just learning the basics and advanced dancers alike. So, even if you’re just starting, Hamburg’s International Salsa Festival could be the place for you to find your new musical passion.

Location: Emporio Haus - Dammtorwall 15, 20355 Hamburg

Getting there: U2 train or buses 4, 5, 34, 36, 109 & 112 to Gänsemarkt station; buses 3 & 35 to Johannes-Brahms-Platz stop

Dates: 2021 dates TBD

Make sure to check the event’s website for further information, including programme details and registration.
