Many of the vessels visiting Hamburg during the PORT ANNIVERSARY, including tall ships and naval units, river police, customs and fishery protection vessels, invite visitors to go aboard. The historical and museum ships at the Oevelgönne and Sandtorhafen Museum Ports are also part of the event. Every year, the Open Ship events at PORT ANNIVERSARY attract more than 70,000 visitors.

Bag Policy at the Open Ship Events
Naval units: For safety reasons, there is a restriction on bags and backpacks in place on all naval units.
Watercraft of state authorities: There is no restriction on bags and backpacks in place on watercraft of the state police, river police, customs, or fishery protection.
Museum ships: There is no restriction on bags and backpacks in place on museum ships.
Tall ships: There is no restriction on bags and backpacks in place on the tall ships at the Landungsbrücken piers. However, there may be randomised checks of bags and backpacks. Larger items of luggage may be checked. Visitors can store their bags at the gangways before boarding the ships.
