Fantastic insights into the world of gemstones and meteorites: The Mineralogical Museum of the University of Hamburg
In January the Hamburg Welcome Center invites you to the Mineralogical Museum of the University of Ham-burg for exceptionally beautiful insights into the world of crystals, rock stratum, gemstones and meteorites! During an entertaining guided tour in English with the head of the museum, we will get basic information on mineralogy.
We see gemstones and precious stones from all over the world in extraordinary colours and bizarrely beautiful structures. In the meteorite section we will meet an “alien”: A 424 kg powerful iron meteorite discovered in Namibia which is the largest of its kind in Germany. We will discover this and more objects on our journey through 500 square meters of exhibition space!
We look forward to sharing another part of Hamburg with you!
