Prerequisites
The requirements for an application are listed on our website in the "Information sheet on the recognition of test engineers". Listing these points here individually would not claim to be complete. You can get an overview under "Required documents".
Documents required
According to the PVO, the application must contain the following documents, among others:
- Application form
- CV
- Testimonies
- criminal record
- Proof of place of business and any branches
- Evidence of special requirements (see PVO §10 point 2.)
Please note
The approval of test engineers and test experts will be revoked if the place of business is relocated outside of Hamburg.

Procedure
The procedure is listed on our website in the "Information sheet on the recognition of test engineers". After a successful recognition process, a two-year candidate period follows. During this time, the engineers to be examined are supervised by the Test Center for Structural Analysis. With the successful completion of the candidate period, recognition as a test engineer takes place.
Processing time
The recognition process takes about 3 months.
This is followed by a two-year monitoring phase, which is obligatory until final recognition.
Fees
EUR 474 per subject for recognition.
Project-dependent support costs will be incurred over the course of a further 2 years.

Service description
You can apply for recognition as a test engineer for structural analysis in the fields of solid construction, metal construction and/or timber construction. After successful recognition, you will complete the two-year candidate period, during which you will be supervised by the Testing Center for Structural Analysis. You will then receive recognition as a test engineer for structural analysis.
