Request information from the register of building encumbrances

Prerequisites

You will receive excerpts with owner details

• if you own the property
• as leaseholders, authorized representatives and notaries
• if you demonstrate a legitimate interest

Documents required

For excerpts from the building encumbrance register with personal data, the following evidence is required for data protection reasons:

• a credential or
• A power of attorney from the landowner or the person entitled to leasehold buildings (see Power of Attorney link)

• Ordering by telephone is not possible.

Procedure

• Online: You call up the online service.
• The steps required to apply for the information will become apparent as the process progresses.
• The applicable fees are paid by credit card or direct debit.
• E-mail, fax or letter: The owner of a piece of property, a person entitled to build a building lease or an authorized person creates an order.
• The documents are then sent together with the fee notice as PDF files by e-mail or sent in paper form by post.

Products without legitimate interest check: Few minutes;


Products with legitimate interest check: 2 to 3 working days

The amount of the costs depends on the number of parcels for which information is requested.

If a building encumbrance is registered for your property, you have the obligation to do, tolerate or refrain from doing certain things that affect the property.
You can obtain excerpts from the register of building encumbrances from the state office for geoinformation and surveying.
For the justification or deletion of building encumbrances, please contact the responsible building inspection office in your district office.
