The office for residents' affairs issues a written registration certificate to the person concerned upon request. Like the simple registration certificate, this basically contains the following data:
- Family name,
- earlier names,
- first names,
- doctoral degree,
- religious name, stage name,
- Date and place of birth and, in the case of birth abroad, also the country,
- current addresses, marked according to main and secondary residence.
- legal representative, spouse, life partner and underage children
- Surname and first names, doctoral degree, date of birth, address,
- current nationalities,
- previous adresses,
- move-in date, move-out date and
- Marital status,
- religious affiliation.
Foreign citizens must present their consulates with an extended registration certificate for passport matters.
Certificates for other persons can only be sent to the person concerned in writing or handed over upon presentation of a power of attorney.
Important notes
Prerequisites
Personal appearance is required. However, an authorized person can represent the applicant and apply for the registration certificate on his behalf.

Valid identity card or passport.
Please note
The application must be made in person.
Only data from 1987 onwards is available in the Hamburg Service. For data prior to 1987, the registration register of the Central Registration Office is responsible.
