Prerequisites
For participation in electronic legal transactions, according to the applicable legal framework, a so-called secure transmission path (i.e. De-Mail in the form of sender-confirmed or so-called special electronic mailbox) or access via EGVP (electronic court and administrative mailbox) and for the fulfillment of any Written form requirements may require a signature card (qualified electronic signature). Special electronic mailboxes are only available for lawyers (beA), notaries (beN) and authorities (beBpo).

For procedures according to ZPO, partly FamFG, ArbGG, SGG, VwGO, FGO, StPO and OWiG, the requirements of a federal ordinance (ordinance on the technical framework for electronic legal transactions and on the special electronic mailbox (electronic legal traffic ordinance - ERVV) as well as the announcement of technical requirements.
For submissions to the Hamburg trade, partnership and cooperative register, the requirements of a state ordinance (ordinance on electronic legal transactions in Hamburg and the announcement of further technical details) must be observed.
