Prerequisites
Hamburg Schools Act, Section 38, beginning of compulsory schooling
(1) Children who have reached the age of 6 before July 1st are required to attend school on August 1st of the same calendar year.
Documents required
Information about the procedure and the required documents can be obtained from every elementary school. Information about the registration period can be obtained from the school information center.
Please note
First graders and preschoolers register in the spring, the dates are announced in the press in November / December and posted in the primary schools.
