Recipients of unemployment benefit II, social benefits, benefits under the Social Security Code XII (social assistance, basic security), benefits under Paragraphs 2 or 3 of the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, housing benefit or child allowance under the Federal Child Benefit Act can receive this benefit as part of the education package.
Foster children, recipients of vocational training allowance (BAB) or training allowance and recipients of student or pupil BAFÖG are not entitled to benefits from the educational package.
However, there is the possibility of assuming the costs for this group of people in the responsibility and according to the regulations of the authority for school and vocational training, it is to contact the respective school office.
If the distance is appropriate, the costs incurred to travel from the place of residence to the nearest school of the chosen course of study by bus or train will be covered. The Hamburg guidelines for school transport costs apply.
Important notes
Prerequisites
- Schoolchildren under 25 years of age who or whose parents are receiving the above services (age limit of 25 years does not apply to beneficiaries under SGB XII and the AsylbLG)
- Attending a general or vocational school
- no training allowance received
- Distance in accordance with the school fare regulations of 02/07/2006 / Hamburg guidelines for school transport costs
Documents required
- Approval notification or certificate (confirmation of performance) must be presented to the school
- Completed application for 'covering the travel costs to bridge the way to school' must be submitted to the school (application form is available at the school)
The certificate (confirmation of performance) is a brief notification that only contains the data required for the application for benefits (name, period of approval, date of birth, address, legal basis for receiving benefits).
Beneficiaries under SGB II must first apply for this in the team.arbeit.hamburg job center. For beneficiaries from other legal circles, they will be sent automatically.
