Service description
You can apply for the award if you are involved in a local, non-profit and innovative project that is no more than three years old and that improves the quality of life of groups or individuals. Similar to the start-up scene, there can also be small and medium-sized initiatives or associations that generally have little money but want to make a difference in society with good engagement projects. Good examples of social innovations are - in addition to the idea of the food banks or the concept of a street newspaper - various projects in the areas of intercultural cooperation or district design (e.g. urban gardening). Special neighborhood initiatives, intergenerational cooperation and open source movements are also part of the broad spectrum of innovative engagement.
