Apply for recognition as a testing and certification body in accordance with the Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance

Prerequisites

• They are able to assess the suitability of technical or manual training.
• They carry out the tests impartially and independently.
• They plan and structure the exams in such a way that the specified minimum technical requirements are covered.
• They establish procedures for reporting and keep records of the individual and overall results of the audit.
• They ensure that the commissioned auditors are familiar with the relevant test methods and test documents and have the appropriate competence in the area to be tested.
• They ensure that the devices, tools and materials required for the practical examinations are available.

Documents required

With the application you submit information about the examiners you have commissioned, the procedure for the examination and the content of the certificates.

If necessary, the competent authority will request further documents from you:

• training documents of future lecturers,
• content of the course,
• schedule for the implementation of the course,
• examination regulations,
• Procedural regulations for the issuance of certificates of competence,
• List of devices that are intended for training
• Sample of an exam, catalog of questions

Please note

The testing and certification body conducts tests and issues certificates of expertise that are required for certain activities (according to the Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance). These include in particular:

• Leak control, gas recovery, installation, repair, maintenance, servicing or decommissioning
• of equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases and
• by companies that carry out these activities in connection with refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems or heat pumps for third parties.

Certification bodies can also act as examination bodies.

Deadlines

You need recognition as a testing and certification body before you carry out tests or issue certificates.

Procedure

• You submit a written or electronic application to the competent authority for recognition as an examination and certification body.
• The authority will examine your application.
• If necessary, the authority will request additional application documents from you.
• The authority decides on your application.
• You will receive a notification from the competent authority.

Fees

Management fee: EUR 100 - 1000

Legal remedies

• Objection within one month after receipt of the decision.

For certain work according to the Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance, certificates of expertise are required for the personnel carrying out the work. These certificates are issued after passing the exam.
In order to carry out such tests and issue the corresponding certificates, you need to be recognized as an examination and certification body. You can apply to the competent authority for recognition as an examination and certification body.
