Apply for grants for preventive measures for cattle
You can receive financial support for cattle to detect damage caused by epizootics or other animal diseases at an early stage. This support also applies to measures to prevent, control, monitor and eradicate animal diseases.
Important notes
Prerequisites
- You have properly reported your animal stock and any changes to your animal stock.
- You have paid your contributions to the Hamburg Animal Disease Fund (TSK) on time.
- The measures are regulated in the applicable aid regulations and the further requirements.
- The services provided comply with the provisions of the applicable EU aid regulations.
Documents required
- Evidence of the number and results of genotyping
- Accounting for the genotyping performed
- Declaration of participation in the restructuring proceedings
- Recognition of stocks
Please note
The applicable aid directive regulates the measures for which aid is granted, as well as the further conditions for the payment of aid and the amount of the grants.

Procedure
- Use the form provided by the competent authority to apply for aid and submit it with the required documents.
- The responsible authority will examine your application and documents. If necessary, it will request further documents or information from you.
- The competent authority will decide on your application. The competent authority will calculate the amount of aid if necessary.
- You will receive a notification from the responsible authority.
For the laboratory diagnostic tests provided by the State Laboratory Institute for Hygiene and Environment, data is exchanged between the responsible body and the Institute for Hygiene and Environment. The aid is paid as a subsidy to the service provider commissioned to carry out the measure. Aid for animal losses is granted as a subsidy directly to you as the aid recipient.

Service description
You can receive financial support from the competent authority for measures for the early detection, prevention, control, monitoring and eradication of animal diseases, epidemic animal diseases or zoonoses. This support includes voluntary services for sampling and testing of samples for BHV1, BVDV, leukosis and brucellosis in cattle, as well as for official animal identification and related advisory services.
In addition, you can receive assistance for the removal and disposal of dead animals.
