Apply for a placement budget

Are you currently in the application process for a new job or apprenticeship? Here you can find out how you can receive financial support.

Detailed description

If you are looking for a new job or training, certain costs can be reimbursed from the so-called placement budget. These include, for example, expenses for

Your self-submitted applications,
Your journeys or trips to job interviews,
required documents (such as certified copies or translations) as well as
Moving expenses if you have to change your place of residence for the new job.

Important notes

Prerequisites

They are unemployed or at risk of unemployment.
You wish to take up employment subject to social security contributions or vocational training at a company or school.
Your desired employment involves at least 15 hours per week.
They receive basic income support benefits under the Second Book of the Social Code (SGB II).

Documents required

Depending on the type of support you have applied for, you will need to submit the relevant documentation. Your integration specialist will inform you which documents must be included with your application.

Please note

You cannot receive funding from the placement budget if there is already another entity covering the costs (for example, your employer or other public bodies).

Deadlines

You must submit the application before any costs are incurred.

Procedure & Fees

Procedure

You arrange a consultation appointment with the relevant authority.
During the meeting you will discuss whether funding from the placement budget is possible.
You submit your application along with the required documents.
The relevant authority will review your application.
You will receive written notification as to whether the costs will be covered.
The reimbursable costs will be transferred to you.

Processing time

The processing of your application usually takes between a few days and 12 weeks, provided all required documents are complete.
