Apply for official approval as a measuring point for determining emissions and immissions of air pollutants, noise and vibrations
If you would like to measure emissions and immissions as a service for others, you need approval from the responsible authority.
Important notes
Prerequisites
You need the necessary specialist knowledge to be approved as a measuring point. You also need to be reliable and independent.
You must be able to use equipment and personnel to detect particulate, gaseous, organic and inorganic substances and odors. You must have the special requirements regarding sampling and analysis.
You must have the equipment and personnel skills to detect noises and/or vibrations.

You must provide information on the following points:
- Your reliability and independence
- Specialist staff
- Qualifications of your staff
- technical equipment
- Expertise (accreditation)
- which measurement activities (areas of activity and material areas according to Appendix 1 of the 41st BImSchV) the announcement should cover
Please note
Certain emissions and immissions of noise, vibrations and air pollutants may only be determined by expert bodies, for example engineering offices or measuring institutes. The same applies to checking the proper installation and function of the measuring devices during continuous measurement of the system.
For the calibration of measuring devices in chimney sweeping, instead of accreditation, a certificate according to VDI 4208, Sheet 2 about the establishment of a quality assurance system is required.
Deadlines
The notification is limited to five years and must then be applied for again.

Procedure
Apply for approval from the responsible authority.

If all requirements are met, you will be recognized as a “notified body in accordance with Section 29b BImSchG” with a formal notification from the responsible body.
Your announcement will be published nationwide in the Internet database ReSyMeSa - research system for measuring points and experts.
Processing time
You will receive notification of your announcement approximately four months after the complete documents have been submitted.
Fees
You will receive a fee notice. The fees depend on the examination and administrative effort.

Service description
As a measuring point for emissions and immissions in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act, you can offer your services throughout Germany after approval and notification by a state authority or take part in corresponding tenders.
Announced positions can be:
- Civil law companies
- legal persons:
- Public limited companies (AG)
- Limited liability companies (GmbH)
- Cooperatives
- societies
- Authorities and other public institutions
- General partnerships (OHG) and limited partnerships (KG and GmbH & Co. KG) are equivalent to legal entities.
