Weapons, ammunition or permission documents - report loss

Prerequisites

You have lost a weapon, ammunition or a permit.

Documents required

• Identity card or passport (copy)

Please note

To fill out the ad quicker, you can use the NWR identification numbers (NWR-ID):

• Your PersonalNWR-ID (P- or F-NWR-ID) for your personal information
• the permit NWR-ID for the weapons law permit (E-NWR-ID)
• the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T NWR ID).

You will receive the NWR IDs upon request from the responsible weapons authority.

Deadlines

You must report the loss immediately.

Procedure

You must report the loss of weapons, ammunition or license documents to the responsible weapons authority.

You must immediately report the loss of weapons, ammunition and weapons permits that require a permit. The weapons law permit documents include:

• gun ownership card,
• ammunition purchase certificate,
• gun license,
• Small gun license,
• shooting permit,
• European firearms passport,
• Replacement certificate for firearm ownership card or firearms license,
• other permission documents (e.g. weapons trade or manufacturing license, transport or transport permit, special permit for carrying weapons at public events).

You can also indicate the loss of several weapons/ammunition and permit documents in one report.
If you report that you have lost permission documents, you should also request that replacement documents be issued to you when reporting.
In addition, you must report to the police that you have lost weapons and/or permit documents.
If you find the weapons and permits again, you must report this to the responsible weapons authority. You must return any replacement documents that may have been issued.
