Show that weapons or ammunition are only given to authorized persons in Germany

Prerequisites

You have a gun ownership card (WBK)

Documents required

• Identity card or passport (copy)
• Weapon ownership card (WBK)
• If applicable, European firearms passport

Please note

To fill out the ad quicker, you can use the NWR identification numbers (NWR-ID):

• Your personal NWR ID (P or F NWR ID) for personal information
• the permit NWR ID for the weapons law permit (E-NWR ID)
• the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T NWR ID).

You will receive the NWR IDs upon request from the responsible weapons authority.

Procedure

You must report the transfer of weapons and/or ammunition that requires a permit to the responsible weapons authority. Submit the application along with the required documents.

If you give your weapon and/or ammunition that requires a license to someone else, you must report this to the responsible weapons authority within two weeks. The responsible weapons authority will then delete the entry for the weapon and/or ammunition from your weapon ownership card (WBK) and, if applicable, from your European firearms passport.

You don't have to show it if you do

• leave essential parts of the weapon in order to have beautification work or similar work carried out and then receive them back after the work has been completed,
• Weapons and/or ammunition are provided as part of a training and employment relationship,
• Weapons and/or ammunition temporarily left for shooting at a shooting range.
