Apply for permission to purchase if you have a firearm ownership card for hunting associations

Prerequisites

You have a weapon ownership card (WBK) for clubs.

Documents required

• Identity card or passport (copy)
• Weapon ownership card (WBK) for clubs
• Proof of safe storage

• the permit NWR ID for the weapons law permit (E-NWR ID)
• the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T NWR ID).

You will receive the NWR IDs upon request from the responsible weapons authority.

Procedure

You must apply for a preliminary entry from the responsible weapons authority. Submit the application along with the required documents.

If you, as a hunting association, have a weapon ownership card (WBK) and want to purchase a firearm that requires a permit, you must apply for this. Permission is granted by the responsible authority through an entry in the weapon ownership card (pre-entry).

With the preliminary entry you have one year to purchase the registered weapon.

In the application for a permit to purchase a firearm, you only need to indicate what type of weapon and what caliber you would like to purchase. Further information, such as the manufacturer and exact model, is not initially required. You only have to provide this information once you have purchased the weapon and have fulfilled your obligation to report the purchase of the weapon to the responsible authority. The gun dealer must also report that the gun was given to you.

You must demonstrate that you can safely store the weapon you wish to purchase.
