Issue accompanying documents for wine transport

Prerequisites

• They transport unbottled wine products of more than 60 liters.
• They transport wine products in labeled containers of more than 10 liters that have a non-reusable cap.
• The transport distance of wine products is over 70 kilometers:
  • from the vineyard to the winemaking facility
  • between two plants of the same company
  • between the plants of a producer association

Deadlines

There is no deadline. The accompanying document is created immediately before transport. A transport permit from an authority is not necessary.

Procedure

Submit wine accompanying document online:

• Submit the accompanying document for the transport of wine products online or by post to the responsible control authority at the loading point. You create the accompanying document immediately before transport, when the wine product has been loaded onto the transport vehicle and the final number of liters for transport has been determined. The accompanying document refers only to this transport and cannot be used for other transports.
• The electronic wine accompanying document process (eWeinBV) allows you to create the wine accompanying document online:
• Before the upcoming transport, log in to the eWeinBV application with your user ID and prepare the electronic wine accompanying document.
• This will guide you step by step through the necessary information, which you can enter online.
• Finally, you confirm that all information provided is correct.
• The accompanying document is created, receives a unique reference number and is unchangeable for you. The transport can begin.
• All those involved who also take part in the eWeinBV (e.g. wineries, commission agents) can now access the electronic wine accompanying document online or receive it digitally.

Submit accompanying documents by post:

• You fill out the form legibly and completely in four copies.
• You give the original to the driver. You keep the remaining three copies.
• The driver hands the original over to the recipient of the wine transport (for example the winery) at the destination.
• You send two copies by post to the responsible control authority at the loading location no later than one day after the start of the transport.
• The remaining copy is for your records.
• All you have to do is create and submit the accompanying document. There is no processing or notification creation by the authority.

Processing time

It is purely a report; no processing or notice creation takes place.

Fees: Currently €10 per document

To transport unbottled wine products, you need a wine accompanying document.

Wine products are:

• Grapes
• grape must
• mash
• Wine
• Sparkling wine
• sparkling wine
• fortified wine
• Brandy

The accompanying document authorizes you to transport the wine products from the producer to a further processing or recycling point, for example to a winery. You are required to use an accompanying document.
