The Construction Competence Center (BKZ) strengthens the construction industry in Hamburg in order to be able to cope with the increasingly complex construction tasks and the increased demands on construction in the long term. In doing so, uniform actions and procedures are developed across the respective boundaries of responsibility of users and implementers, thereby achieving synergy effects. Due to its technical expertise, this center acts as a competent contact and dialogue partner.
As a central or superordinate body, the BKZ develops a view of the "big picture". Here, the BKZ acts as a guide through the public building administration in Hamburg and thus ensures more transparency for all those involved in the exchange of experience and knowledge beyond the individual departments.
The BKZ helps with subject-related training courses to bring innovations to those who need them and implement them, to impart knowledge and to actively communicate this to the outside world. In addition, the existing specialist knowledge in the administration is supplemented and bundled to the required extent through in-house skills or the involvement of external expertise.
In this function, the BKZ sees itself as a kind of knowledge center or knowledge manager. From the function of knowledge manager, the BKZ will be able to assume central control of overriding construction issues. It also coordinates and organizes exchange formats between all those involved in the construction industry.
