If you would like to have the security personnel deployed in the aviation security area recertified, you can apply to your aviation security authority for this.

Period of validity 5 years
A recertification interval of five years is provided for persons who do not operate X-ray or EDS devices.

Procedure
As an airport operator or security service provider, you can apply for the recertification of security personnel in writing or online from the aviation security authority responsible for you.
If you want to have security personnel recertified and want to apply for this in writing:
- As an airport operator or security service provider, you first report the need for the recertification of security personnel to the responsible aviation security authority and at the same time submit training documents and an evaluation of the work performance of the persons to be recertified.
- The aviation security authority accepts the documents and checks them for completeness.
- You can submit missing documents later.
- After successfully completing recertification, the recertification certificate is issued.
- The airport operator and the security service provider receive a copy of the recertification evidence of the persons concerned.
- A notice of charges will be issued and sent to the airport operator by post.
- You call up the online service.
- You select the application type "Recertification security personnel".
- The remaining procedural steps correspond to the written procedure.

Service description
- If you would like to have the security personnel deployed in the aviation security area recertified, you can apply for this at your aviation security authority.
- The prerequisite is proof of successfully completed further training or refresher training, which must have taken place within five years of certification. Refresher training lasts at least three hours.
- The training certificate in question contains documentation of the learning success control carried out by the trainer, which enables the responsible aviation security authority to issue proof of recertification. In addition, you must submit an evaluation of the work performance of the persons concerned.
