The success of Disney's Mary Poppins in Hamburg once again proves that the city ranks among the world’s prime musical locations. Based on a novel by P.L. Travers as well as the Academy Award-winning Disney movie (1964), Disney’s Mary Poppins has found its way into theatres across the globe. So far, the story about an offbeat yet kindhearted nanny has already fascinated an audience of 12 million people in several countries. On Broadway, the “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” show ran for six straight years. After premiering in London in 2004, the musical has won more than 30 international awards. In 2018, the show is sure to cast its spell on Hamburg audiences.
