CCH – Congress Center Hamburg Location for Conventions, Trade Fairs, Concerts and Exhibitions

In April 1973, the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg opened as Germany's first congress centre. The building was closed for renovation work in 2016. The reopening of the new, fully refurbished CCH took place on 22 April 2022.

The New CCH – Highly flexible and multifunctional

The new, trailblazing CCH is one of the most modern and largest congress centres in Europe, covering a total area of 36,000 square metres. On four floors, there are up to 50 multifunctional halls for congresses and events of all kinds at the three event areas West, Central and East. All areas are conveniently accessible via separate entrances and exits.

Designed by architects agn leusmann / Tim Hupe Architekten, the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg offers plenty of ways to let you host a successful event. Our experienced event team is happy to provide you with personal support and comprehensive services to help you develop and realise your ideas. Our multifunctional and modular event halls can be set up individually for any event – whether top-rating conferences or company meetings with celebrety guests on the big stage, product presentations in the foyer hall or cultural events in Hamburg's largest concert venue.

Congresses and fairs

Most of the event halls can be individually reduced, enlarged, divided or extended – just the way it suits your event best. Plus, the vertical and horizontal division of the CCH makes it possible to hold several events at the same time. Of course, all areas and rooms have the latest technical equipment and WiFi is free of charge in the entire building. All in all, this means unlimited possibilities.

On the four floors of the CCH, the event halls can be divided into three separate areas: West, Centre and East. What is special about this is that they can divided both horizontally and vertically to ideally suit your event set-up. You also have the option to rent two or all three areas of the location.

Accessible and flooded with light

The modernized and upgraded CCH – Congress Center Hamburg enthralls visitors with its light-flooded modern architecture, expertly designed room concepts and state-of-the-art AV systems. It sets new standards in terms of location, flexibility and individuality.

As soon as you set foot into the new entry area you get a foretaste of the unique character of this building – a magnificent impression that continues to build as you walk through the generously-dimensioned entrance hall and Belvedere. Throughout the CCH, an innovative lighting system provides perfect lighting conditions by day and night.

Sustainability was a top priority for the architects of the redesign, and the CCH hopes to receive a Gold Certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). Needless to mention, the entire complex is barrier-free!

A unique complex for events

The CCH is surrounded by Planten un Blomen, one of the most popular green areas in the city. Visitors have a wide range of choices for fun activities, from recreational sites to cultural programs to sitting down with friends for a chat. There are international restaurants for any budget, shopping districts, museums, musical and theatre performances, the world-famous Reeperbahn, or the iconic new Elbphilharmonie concert building, affectionately dubbed “Elphie” by locals.

The Hamburg Messe und Congress exhibition campus, with 87,000 square meters of exhibition space, and the inner city can be reached on foot in a matter of minutes. The Dammtor mainline train station (with access to high-speed and commuter trains) is just a few steps away. Even the city airport (with flights to and from approximately 130 destinations) is located no more than 25 minutes away. And, last but not least, more than 100 hotels of all categories with a total of roughly 3,500 rooms can be found nearby.
