Apply for benefits from the education package

With the education package, special offers can be used at school, in child day care and in leisure time. You can apply for this educational package.

Important notes

Prerequisites

Pupils who attend a general or vocational school or pre-school class receive benefits

  • Unemployment benefit II or social benefit (SGB II),
  • Social assistance or basic security benefits (SGB XII),
  • Benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG),
  • receive housing benefit or child allowance.
OR:
The family has a low income. Then, depending on the needs calculation, you can also receive all or part of the services from the Hamburg education package.

Age limits: The age limit is generally 25 years.
Deviation: This age limit does not apply in the Twelfth Social Code (SGB XII) and in the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG).

Additional information for recipients of housing benefit and child allowance
For recipients of housing benefit or child benefit supplement, responsibility for all BuT services (flat-rate school supplies, one-day excursions, trips lasting several days, socio-cultural participation services, etc.) has been with the Eimsbüttel district office, central accounting office, since January 1, 2021.
Exceptions: In the case of lunchtime meals in school and daycare, student transport and learning support, the application is submitted via the school office or, in the case of lunchtime meals in daycare, via the responsible district office (further details in the descriptions of the individual services).
