  • You initiate the blocking personally via the Hamburg Service - Office for Residents' Affairs, or by telephone using the blocking hotline (116 116). The blocking will be initiated immediately.
  • At the same time, the police are informed by the Hamburg Service that the ID card has been lost.
  • To call the blocking hotline, you need the personal blocking password that you were given in the PIN letter. If you do not have this, you can request the blocking password from the identity card authority where you applied for your ID card. Your personal appearance and proof of identity are required for this.
