Prerequisites
A decision on the payment of the housing benefit is to be made ex officio if
- reduced the number of household members
- Increased your income by more than 15% or
- reduced their rent or encumbrance by more than 15%
Documents required
When making a decision ex officio, no documents are required from you.
The following is required to notify changes:
- Evidence of change in rent or encumbrance
- Proof of changed income
- Evidence of the change in the household members to be taken into account.
Please note
There will be a recalculation ex officio.
In order to avoid or uncover the illegal claiming of housing benefit, the housing benefit authority may regularly check the household members by means of a so-called data comparison.
Deadlines
Housing benefit recipients are obliged to notify the housing benefit authority immediately of any changes that could lead to a reduction in housing benefit.
If the change in circumstances does not occur on the first of a month, the decision shall take effect from the first of the following month.
