Detailed description
If you have been diagnosed with a degree of disability of at least 50, you can apply for a severely disabled person's pass.
If you are a severely disabled person from a non-EU country whose residence permit is limited, the severely disabled person's pass can only be issued as long as your residence permit is valid.
With the severely disabled person's ID card, you can prove that you are a severely disabled person and also claim certain rights and corresponding compensation for disadvantages, depending on the type of entry in the ID card. Examples of compensation for disadvantages include:
- special protection against dismissal under employment law
- Entitlement to additional leave
- Income tax concessions,
- free travel on public transport
- Use of disabled parking spaces
- Parking concessions
- Broadcasting license fee exemption
- reduced admission to events
The severely disabled person's ID card indicates the degree of disability and, if applicable, other health characteristics (identification marks). These characteristics are:
- aG – exceptional walking disability
- H – Helpless within the meaning of the Income Tax Act
- Bl – Blind
- Gl – Deaf
- RF – Reduction of the broadcasting fee
- B – Authorization to bring an accompanying person
- G – Significant impairment of mobility in road traffic
- TBl – Deafblind
The basic color of the severely disabled person's ID card is green. If one of the symbols "G", "aG", "H", "Bl" or "Gl" has been identified, the ID card has an orange surface print. The ID card with the orange surface print allows free travel on passenger transport. You also need a valid token for this.
If the card expires, is lost or other important data changes, you must apply for a new one.
