Apply for the installation of gaming machines

Prerequisites

• A permit according to § 33c of the Trade Regulations (GewO) requires your reliability under trade law. Their reliability is checked when the application is submitted by the responsible specialist office for consumer protection, trade and the environment.
• The design of the play equipment is approved by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt.

The installation site corresponds to the implementation regulations of the trade regulations.

Documents required

• Application for permission to set up gaming devices with a chance to win
• Identity card or passport with a current registration certificate or residence permit if you are a foreigner and not a citizen of a European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country
• Certificate in tax matters (to be applied for at the tax office of the place of residence)
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office for transaction tax and real estate
• Certificate of good conduct in document type 0 for submission to an authority
• Information from the central trade register in document type 9 for submission to an authority
• Certificate of instruction in player and youth protection
• (Certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce according to Section 33c of the Industrial Code)

  • Publicly recognized institutions that develop such concepts are, in particular, institutions for addiction issues, addiction help and addiction prevention.

Please note

The competent authority can impose conditions at any time. Both you and the tradesman in whose company a playground equipment is installed.

Deadlines

Gambling machines may only be set up and operated if you have all the necessary permits.

Procedure

• You submit all the required documents together with the written application to your responsible district office - specialist office for consumer protection, trade and the environment.
• The Department of Consumer Protection, Trade and the Environment checks your reliability under commercial law.
• If all requirements are met, you will be granted permission.
