Aerial supervision

Detailed description

The central task of aviation supervision is to avert operational dangers to the safety of air traffic as well as to public safety and order through aviation. Aviation supervision represents the aviation authority on site as the supervisory authority for the airport.

 

Information

Please note

In addition, the air traffic control in Hamburg is responsible for:

  • Approval of professional large fireworks within a radius of 1.5 km from Fuhlsbüttel Airport (§15a LuftVO).
  • Drone ascents. All important information see links ( use of drones in Hamburg). For further specific questions, please contact the air traffic control.
  • Helicopter landings,
  • Ascent of hot air and tethered balloons,
  • Low-level flights,
  • Exceptional permits for professional fireworks
    - within a radius of 1.5 km from the outer boundary of Hamburg Airport and the Finkenwerder special landing site,
    - which should climb higher than 300 m,
    - which could pose a general danger to aviation
    (In addition, a notification to the BGV, Office for Occupational Safety and Health, Explosives Department is always necessary).
