Legal assistance also relates to the extradition of prisoners abroad. If a person with German citizenship who is incarcerated in a prison abroad wishes to be relocated to Germany, the regional justice administration in the federal state in which the inmate had his last German place of residence is responsible. If that was Hamburg, the judicial authority is responsible.
