Commercial drivers have to record their driving and rest times. The company needs company cards to read this data.
It is issued directly in the name of the company; several such cards per company are possible. If sole proprietorships have driver cards to record driving and rest times, they too need a company card.
Important notes
Prerequisites
The application to the Landesbetrieb Verkehr (LBV) is only possible if the company is based in Hamburg.
Alternatively, you have the option of sending the application with the documents below directly to the driver's license mailbox (fuehrerschein@lbv.hamburg.de).
Documents required
- Information on the company that operates the vehicle or employs the driver (see the application form under Services & More)
- Name and registered office of the company as well as the address of the place of business
- the old company card when applying for a new one
- a copy of the identity card of the appointed person
- proof of the name of the owner or the person authorized to represent it
- the appointment confirmation (only in the case of a personal appointment)
Please note
Validity period
Company cards are valid for five years. After the deadline, a new application must be submitted. For follow-up applications, please have the existing, expiring company card number ready for entry. A new company card must also be requested in the event of theft, loss or damage.
Application by email
You can also send the application for the company cards by email to fuehrerschein@lbv.hamburg.de. It is important that all necessary documents are included in the attachment to the mail. You can find the application under Services & Links. An appointment booking is required for a personal application. The driving license offices LBV-Mitte and LBV-Nord are responsible
Appointment booking
Appointments are booked via the LBV. Proceed as follows here:
1. Visit the website for booking appointments (see link below) and select the company card service under the Other service group .
2. Use the location selection to display appointments at a specific location.
3. After selecting the location, use the calendar displayed to select a free appointment (date and time).
4. Now enter your name and your e-mail address for booking.
5. You will receive an email. Please confirm the appointment.
Please bring the appointment confirmation that you will receive with you to the appointment.
Procedure & Fees
Processing time
The processing time is five to ten days from receipt of the application.
Fees
The fees range from EUR 38.00 (collection) to EUR 41.00 (dispatched) per card.
