Prerequisites
- Her main residence is in Hamburg.
- You have reached the minimum age of 21.
- You have a class B driving license.
Documents required
- valid identity card, electronic residence permit (eAT) or passport with current registration confirmation
- biometric passport photo (35x45 millimeters)
- ophthalmological report according to Annex 6 of the Driving Licence Regulation (FeV), not older than 2 years
- medical report according to Appendix 5.1 of the Driving Licence Regulation (FeV), not older than 1 year
- valid EU card driving license
- Proof of participation in a first aid training course
- If the driving licence is to be used for commercial goods transport: proof of professional driver qualification

Exceptions to the minimum age requirement may apply in connection with professional driver qualifications. Further information is available during an on-site consultation.
If you obtained a Class 3 driving licence (now C1E) before January 1, 1999, it is valid indefinitely.
Class C1E driving licences issued between January 1, 1999, and December 27, 2016 are valid until the age of 50.
Truck driving licenses issued from December 28, 2016 are valid for 5 years.

- Follow the steps to book an appointment.
- You will receive an email. Confirm your appointment using the link in the email.
- You will receive an appointment confirmation. Please bring it with you to your appointment.
Deadlines
You can submit your application no earlier than six months before reaching the minimum age.
The driver's license is valid for 5 years. An extension should be applied for approximately 4-6 weeks before the expiration date. After the expiration date, a new driver's license must be applied for.
