Only return energy-saving lamps and LEDs to approved collection and return points.



Do not dispose of energy-saving lamps and LEDs in the household waste bin.

Detailed description

Most lamps and light sources contain pollutants and waste resources. These include compact or tubular fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, gas discharge lamps and LED lamps.



As a consumer, you are obliged to take them to an approved collection point. This will ensure that they are recycled in an environmentally friendly and resource-saving manner. Do not dispose of lamps or light bulbs in your household waste.

You want to dispose of lamps or light bulbs.

No documents are required.

Please note

A list of other approved collection points and further specialist information can be found in the links. Lamps and light bulbs are also accepted at these collection points.



Sellers of lamps or light bulbs can inform you where you can return used products in an environmentally friendly manner.

Deadlines

Opening hours of the recycling centers as well as the dates of the mobile hazardous waste collection can be found on the Hamburg City Cleaning website (see links).

Procedure

  • You can hand in lamps, light bulbs, energy-saving lamps and LEDs at all recycling centers run by the Hamburg City Cleaning Service.
  • You can also dispose of them using the mobile hazardous waste collection service.
  • Only hand over your lamps and light bulbs to authorized employees at recycling centers, mobile hazardous waste collection points or carefully place them in the collection boxes in stores.
  • Easily removable lamps from old electrical appliances should also be disposed of separately.
  • You can dispose of light bulbs and halogen lamps in your household waste.
  • If you are unsure about the type of lamp, please take it to an appropriate collection point.

Fees

There are no costs for the disposal of your lamps and bulbs.
