My ELSTER (formerly ElsterOnline-Portal) bundles the online services of the financial administration. My ELSTER enables all taxpayers to fill out and submit various forms online on the Internet. Users only need a browser for this. The annual download and installation of extensive programs is no longer necessary.
To register via Mein ELSTER, you can:
- a personal certificate
- the identification number or
- the identification number with the new identity card or
- a non-personal certificate - organization certificate
- the company tax number (recommended for employers)
be used.
My ELSTER offers the option of choosing the type of registration to meet personal security needs and therefore provides three types of registration:
- Certificate file (free of charge),
- Security stick and
- Signature card.
These differ in the scope of the services offered at Mein ELSTER and in the costs.
With each type of registration, a certificate for the use of Mein ELSTER is issued. This can also be used in many other tax programs such as ElsterFormular for the authenticated transmission of tax returns / tax registrations. It is also used to authenticate a data transfer for another person or company.
