ElsterFormular is a free tax program from the financial administration.
ElsterFormular can be used to fill out the tax return or registration on the PC and then encrypt the data with ELSTER and send it to the tax administration via the Internet. ElsterFormular is fill-in software that contains extensive help functions, but no tax advisory functions. The program is available for annual returns for the years 2009 to 2019 (and 2010 to 2020 for registration taxes). The program is no longer available for the annual returns from 2020 and the registration taxes from 2021.
ElsterFormular supports, among other things:
- the income tax return,
- the sales tax return,
- the trade tax return (usually available from March of the following year),
- the advance VAT return,
- the recapitulative statement,
- the income tax registration,
- the income tax certificate (only after registration in the ElsterOnline portal),
- the electronic wage tax deduction features (ELStAM),
- the income surplus calculation (EÜR),
- the application for preferential treatment of the profit not withdrawn (§34a EStG),
- the receipt for the pre-filled tax return.
