Detailed description

Professional titles in the fields of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, or urban planning are protected in Germany. If you are a professional based abroad and do not yet have the right to use your professional title in any other German state, you must register in the special register of foreign professionals.

 

Information

Prerequisites

There are extensive requirements for inclusion in the company register. The responsible authority can provide you with more detailed information.

Documents required

  • ID card or passport as a copy (front and back)
  • Certificate of lawful professional practice in the country of origin issued by the competent supervisory authority in the state of establishment.
  • Proof of professional qualification / vocational training
  • Declaration of Responsibility for Professional Practice
  • If necessary, each with a translation by a publicly appointed interpreter in Germany.

Deadlines

You will receive a certificate confirming your registration. This certificate is valid for a maximum of 5 years. You can apply for an extension.

Procedure

  • You submit your application to the responsible authority. Use the application form provided by the responsible authority for this purpose.
  • You will receive confirmation of receipt and, if applicable, further information from the responsible authority.
  • The registration committee will discuss and decide on your application in a meeting. You will be informed of the meeting date in advance.

Fees

A fee of EUR 250 will be charged for processing your application.
