Have you immigrated to Germany and have a professional or educational qualification from abroad? Do you need help with the recognition of your qualifications?
The Central Contact Point for Recognition (ZAA) will be happy to advise and support you with the following questions:
  • Do you need recognition to be allowed to work?
  • Can your degree be recognised?
  • Who is responsible for the recognition?
  • What documents are required for recognition?
If you ask yourself these questions and other questions of this kind, you are at the right place at the ZAA.

Prerequisites

You have acquired a vocational and/or educational qualification abroad.

Documents required

For the consultation, please bring the following documents with you, if they are available:

  • curriculum vitae
  • Certificates / Diplomas
  • German translation of the documents
  • Correspondence and notices from competent authorities and recognition bodies
Depending on the profession, additional documents may be required.

Please note

The following forms of counseling are offered:

  • Personal advice in the ZAA rooms
  • Online consultation via Skype or Zoom
  • telefonic consultancy
  • Written advice via email
In preparation for making an appointment, please inform the staff about the following:
  • Your name, phone number and age
  • Type of your degree and certificate
  • Country of origin of the degree/certificate
  • Are there German translations of your documents?
  • Your expectations from the consultation
When making the appointment, please let us know in which language you can and would like to be advised. Advice can be given in the following languages:
