Transportation of schoolchildren (e.g. trips to swimming lessons)

Transport of pupils without disabilities to schools that are not easily accessible by public transport or to compulsory swimming lessons, provided that the journey from the school to the swimming pool by public transport is longer than 30 minutes per one-way trip.

Detailed description

For students who cannot easily reach remote schools by public transport because the hvv does not provide an adequate service, the BSFB organizes buses for student transport.


For compulsory swimming lessons, the authority organizes bus transport for schools whose journey to the swimming pool by public transport takes more than 30 minutes (one way).

Prerequisites

The school must not be easily accessible by public transport. For mandatory swimming lessons, the journey time must be longer than 30 minutes by public transport (one-way).

Please note

The school travel assistance regulations apply to the transport of pupils with a (threatened) disability who require assistance on their way to school and whose guardians are unable to provide this assistance.

Procedure

After scheduling swimming lessons, the Social Services department of the BSFB checks travel times with the public transport company (HVV). If the conditions are met, bus transportation is arranged through one of the framework contract partners.
