You can obtain information about services provided by the Hamburg administration and other public institutions by calling the government number 115.

Detailed description

By calling 115, you can receive answers to the most common government inquiries. It doesn't matter which authority, administrative level, or jurisdiction is involved. For example, you can get help with the following questions:

  • I bought a new car. When is the registration office open?
  • Where can I apply for my new identity card?
  • How can I apply for BAföG?
  • Where can I obtain a registration information?
  • How do I register a business?

The goal of the 115 government hotline is to answer your questions on the first contact. If this isn't possible, you'll receive a response within 24 hours during service hours. You can choose between email, fax, or a callback. This is guaranteed by the 115 service promise.

You'll no longer have to spend time searching for departments and individual phone numbers if you call the government number 115. Most inquiries can be answered immediately, so you don't have to contact the administration twice with the same matter. This avoids unnecessary visits to the authorities.
