Asylum seekers should first report to the Central Reception Center of the Office for Migration. The central initial reception serves as a first point of contact and accommodation for newly arrived asylum seekers.

The asylum application is always submitted in person to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). A written application is possible according to § 14 Asylum Act under certain conditions.
