Apply for a social discount

Prerequisites

- They are registered in Hamburg.

- They currently receive subsistence-level social benefits from Hamburg: citizen's allowance, basic income support, benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act.

- You possess a valid identity document with a passport photo.

Documents required

- Valid identification document (identity card, tolerated stay and registration certificate, residence permit and registration confirmation)

- completed application form

- You can voluntarily submit your benefits statement.

Please note

The application form can be downloaded. It is also available for collection at the following locations:

- Social service centers

- Locations of Jobcenter team.arbeit.hamburg

- HVV service centers

The social discount is not granted on weekly tickets or the semester ticket.

The discount cannot be used on a pro-rata basis (on a daily basis).

Procedure

- You fill out the application form and sign it.

- You submit the form together with your identification document to an HVV service point.

- Your identity will be confirmed on the form there.

- You will receive your monthly or subscription ticket.

- Your application form will be forwarded to an auditing body for random sampling.
