Detailed description
The broadcasting fee is a monthly fee that every household in Germany must pay to finance public broadcasters such as ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio.
The contribution applies to all households, regardless of whether you listen to the radio or watch television.
If you rent or buy another apartment in addition to your main residence, you must register it with the contribution service. This also applies to holiday homes and caravans if you use them primarily for private purposes at a fixed location.
In certain cases, you can apply for an exemption from the broadcasting fee for your secondary residence if your main residence is already subject to the fee.
