Service description
Our waters are facing major challenges due to climate change. In Germany, extreme events such as heavy rain and prolonged dry periods are to be expected. This damages the rivers, streams and lakes with their habitats and the organisms found in them.
"Trockener Bach" is an online reporting portal for all citizens who have observed low water levels or bodies of water falling dry and would like to report this to the responsible office.
The collected contributions give BUKEA basic information about where stretches of water are drying up and where it needs to be checked whether and which adaptation measures make sense. With the right measures in the right places, water can be retained in the landscape and is thus available to the body of water for a longer period of time.
The reports / posts are viewed at regular intervals, collected over a year and removed from the map at the end of the year. We use the results and contributions of the year for our planning, but also make them available in the form of an evaluation on this platform. New posts can then be posted again in the new year.
