Detailed description

In order to receive more detailed information about specific individuals, you must credibly demonstrate a legitimate interest in doing so.

You will receive information about the person's surname, first name, doctoral degree, current address and, if deceased, a reference to this.

In addition, you will receive information about previous names, date and place of birth and, if born abroad, also the country, marital status (limited to whether or not married or in a civil partnership), current nationality, previous addresses, move-in and move-out dates, surname and first names and address of legal representative, surname and first names and address of spouse or civil partner, date and place of death and, if died abroad, also the country.

The registration authority will immediately inform the person concerned about the provision of the extended registration information, stating your name as the person making the request. You can prevent this by convincing the registration authority that you have a legal interest in not informing the person concerned. A special reason is the assertion of legal claims.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • Legitimate interest must be made credible (proof required).
    The term "legitimate interest" includes any legal, economic or non-material interest that is to be recognized as worthy of protection.
  • Information on the person sought in order to be able to clearly identify them.
  • There is no block of information entered in the register of residents and there are no indications that the person (s) sought or any other person could endanger interests worthy of protection as a result of the provision of information.

Documents required

  • First and last name of the person you are looking for
  • previous address or date of birth,
  • Possibly a copy of the enforcement order (for information to lawyers).

Please note

  • Each inquiring person / body must indicate whether the inquiry is used for private or commercial purposes.
  • In addition, information is only possible if the person / entity making the request declares that the data will not be used for advertising or address trading purposes.
  • If the person or body making the request requests the data for commercial use, the exact purpose of the request must be stated and the information from the register must then only be used for this purpose.

  • The application for an extended registration information (e.g. date of death) can be made on site at the Hamburg Service, by e-mail, fax or post.
  • In any case, the person/body making the request will receive the answer by post.

Rahlstedt Residents' Affairs

You can use this service at any Hamburg Service Residents' Affairs location, regardless of where you live in Hamburg.

Mon-Tue 12-7pm, Wed-Thu 7am-12pm, Fri 8am-2pm, Visits are by appointment only. You can book an appointment online (https://www.hamburg.de/go/17584) or by phone at 040 115.

If you would like to apply for an identity card, passport or children's passport, you can use an existing self-recording terminal (speed capture terminal) in the customer center to capture the necessary biometric data (digital photo, signature, fingerprints).
Please allow a few minutes more time before your appointment to collect your data.
Note: You will not receive a printout of the digital photo.
There is no need to bring a passport photo with you when using the self-registration terminal.

Please speak to the clerk afterwards.

The existing self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal) cannot be used for fishing licenses and driver's license applications. Please bring a passport photo (biometric) with you for these services.
