Detailed description

Legal clerks do organizational and administrative office work at courts and public prosecutors. You manage files, calculate deadlines, deal with correspondence and certify documents. They also advise citizens in service units.

 

Information

Prerequisites

You can apply for a procedure to check the equivalence of your professional qualification if you can prove that you have completed professional training that was not acquired in Germany and you want to work in Hamburg.

Documents required

Application for equivalence assessment,

  • Copy of identity card, passport or other identification document
  • Curriculum vitae in German (tabular listing of qualifications and employment)
  • Proof that you want to work in Hamburg
  • Proof of qualification acquired abroad
  • if applicable, evidence of relevant professional experience or other qualifications
  • if necessary, a declaration as to whether and to which other body an application for determination of equivalence has already been submitted
  • if applicable, a decision issued by another country regarding the determination of equivalence

Please note

Please submit all documents with a German translation in certified form. Your application can only be processed when the documents are complete.

Procedure

The center for training and further education will confirm receipt of the application within one month and inform you of which documents are missing.

Processing time

If all documents are available, you will receive a written decision on your application within the statutory period of three months.
