Evaluations of foreign school qualifications
Certificates of education acquired abroad are assessed in comparison to German school-leaving qualifications for the purpose of starting work or further training in Hamburg. A certificate is issued about this, which is attached to the foreign certificate and states which school-leaving qualification corresponds to the previous education. Applicants for the state universities in Germany submit their educational certificates directly to a state university of their choice.
Passport or identity card (possibly proof of name change), registration certificate, certificates and diplomas for school and university education (with grades), possibly proof of a passed university entrance examination or a university admission for a scientific degree, translations into German by sworn translators
You can find an application form on the website of the school information center ( http://www.hamburg.de/bsb/evaluation-auslaendischer-schulzeugnisse/ ). This application can be sent to the school information center by post.
