Service description

The special leave is intended to enable you, as a youth leader, (in particular) to supplement your year-round group work by leading or supervising holiday camps without having to use your vacation time for this.

The granting of special leave indirectly enables many children and young people to take vacation and recreational time. It enables you to attend training courses, workshops or training events on youth welfare issues and to take part in international youth encounters. The granting of special leave is intended to serve the further training of active youth leaders and thus their qualification for their voluntary work.

The granting of special leave by employers is therefore a (intended by law) contribution to youth welfare in Hamburg.

The special leave is up to 12 working days per year. It can be spread over a maximum of three events per year.
