As a feed company, you must register your business separately for each location.

Detailed description

If your company produces, manufactures, processes, stores, transports or distributes feed, you are responsible for avoiding risks to human and animal health and the environment through careful and quality-oriented production and use of feed.

Regular, risk-oriented controls by the official feed monitoring authorities are carried out at all stages of production, processing and distribution of feed. These aim to ensure that the provisions of feed law are complied with by the feed companies.

In Germany, animal feed is the most important agricultural resource, with a value of around 17.68 billion euros (2012). The consumption of animal feed is around 79.4 million tonnes per year (grain units, 2011/12).

Regular, risk-oriented controls by the official feed monitoring authorities are carried out at all production, processing and distribution stages of feed production. These are intended to ensure that the provisions of feed law are complied with.

Apply for admission using the application form at the responsible authority.
The responsible authority will examine your application. If necessary, the responsible authority will request further information from you.
You will receive a notification from the responsible authority.

Processing usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.

Fees

Fees range from 50 euros to 550 euros, depending on the effort involved.
