Detailed description

An identity card under the Federal Expellees Act is an official document that confirms your status as a displaced person, refugee or ethnic German repatriate.



If you have lost your identity card under the Federal Expellees Act, you can apply for a replacement certificate. You submit the application to the office that issued your original identity card. The replacement certificate fully replaces your lost identity card and continues to be valid as official proof to authorities and other bodies.

  • You have lost your valid identity card or certificate pursuant to Section 15 Paragraph 1 and/or Paragraph 2 of the Federal Expellees Act.
