Please note
The extension of your residence permit still does not entitle you to work. It can only be permitted upon application by the immigration authorities.
A residence requirement can still be imposed on you.
You are entitled to social benefits (basic security for job seekers according to SGB II or basic security in old age or in the event of reduced earning capacity according to SGB XII) and child benefit.
Family reunification is excluded.
You are not entitled to take part in an integration course. You can only be admitted to participate if there are available course places.

Procedure
As a rule, you must apply for the extension of your residence permit in person - well before your residence permit expires - at your responsible immigration authority.
Arrange an appointment with the local immigration authority. You can also find out more about the application process and which documents you need to submit in what form on the respective website of the foreigners' board.
If you have submitted an application for an extension on time (before your residence permit expires), your current stay will be considered permitted until the immigration authorities make a decision.
If your application is approved, the immigration authority will commission the Bundesdruckerei to produce the electronic residence permit (eAT) with a new validity date.

Extension up to three months: EUR 96.00 (minors: EUR 48.00)
Extension over three months: EUR 93.00 (minors: EUR 46.50)
