Financial compensation is possible as part of passive traffic noise protection (e.g. installation of soundproof windows, roof insulation and soundproofing in the outdoor living area). Only landowners, leaseholders and apartment owners are entitled to claim.
In Hamburg, the departments responsible for consumer protection, trade and the environment are the district offices.
